Bypass Construction In Northamptonshire Set To Boost Local Contractors

Posted by admin in Northamptonshire on July 1, 2009

The construction of a new bypass, as well as the building of around 5000 new homes, around the town of Towcester in Northamptonshire is set to boost the local economy and create up to 2670 new jobs according to a local newspaper.

As well as the new bypass and houses, the scheme could mean the construction of two schools, a new pavilion, sports pitches and a health centre in the town, according to the Northamptonshire Chronicle & Echo.

South Northamptonshire Council Leader Sandra Barnes was reported as saying, “It is also important that if we are going to have new people living here, they have got to be able to connect easily with Northampton and other places.”

She also added that it is vital that plans for the bypass are given the go-ahead if the local community in Towcester is to expand further.

It is thought that the new projects will give a huge boost to local construction companies and that local Civils, Groundworks, Earthworks contractors will be among the first to benefit.
